Spinning Gold is a trio led by Trisha Daniel on vocals and 12-string guitar and includes her husband, Ron Collins, on vocals and 6-string guitar, and Jim Gillam on harmonica and vocals. Our unique repertoire consists of Ron Collins' original songs chronicling his life’s journey and songs by artists ranging from Kathy Mattea and John Prine to Willie Nelson and Woody Guthrie. Our music is propelled by heartfelt singing (with Trisha's distinctive growl) and Jim's soulful harmonica playing over the rhythm of guitars.
Trisha Daniel is a Klamath Falls–based musician rooted in folk and Americana traditions, known for her powerful, expressive vocal style and steady strumming on her 12-string acoustic guitar. Her singing exudes warmth and confidence. She was instrumental in forming the High Desert Sun and Mother Crow Sister Raven bands. Ron Collins' love of music began at an early age with his introduction to the gospel genre as a child. As a young man, Ron was honored to record publisher demos for himself and other songwriters. Jim Gillam has been playing around the Klamath Basin for many years with artists including Trisha, Aaron Miller, Tom Franks, Joan Daley, and The Old Time Fiddlers. Jim is an accomplished accompanist on harmonica, playing a variety of genres with characteristic style. Spinning Gold's goal is to bring good music, fun and laughter to their audiences.
